Help ACO Laura Stallard Through This Challenging Time
Donation protected
Many of you saw and circulated the letter written by St. Louis Country ACO Laura Stallard addressing the conditions at County AC. Laura planned with a friend to secure as many animals for rescue transfer as she could before tending her resignation and going public with her concerns. Even with the added stress of a broken ankle, she sought and secured another job (start date TBD due to the broken ankle), put in her resignation, and prepared her exposé.
County then asked her to delay her resignation by several weeks, and Laura agreed, to help more animals as well as carry her through financially while waiting on a firm start date from her new employer. However, the letter exposing conditions at County had already been posted and immediately shared beyond her control to redact it in time. Consequently, County has rescinded their employment extension, leaving Laura financially kneecapped until her new job begins (in a month or so until her ankle is medically cleared).
If Laura’s letter resonated with you as much as it did with me, if you support significant change at St. Louis County Animal Control, if you shared her letter and felt its significance, if you want to help Laura while she navigates the press coverage regarding County, PLEASE consider donating to this fundraiser to help Laura get through the next month! If everyone in this group donated just $2-5, she would be covered. The momentum to create positive change at County is still strong; interviews are being scheduled, and additional corroborating information is being collected via Sunshine requests. Let’s support this brave ACO for coming forward!
We will continue to update with any and all new information as it comes.
Please DONATE and/or SHARE! Thank you!!
