This year's midterms were somewhat centered around bodily autonomy. This is, without a doubt, what this GoFundMe is about.

Trans Day of Remembrance is 11/20, which is coincidentally the 7th anniversary of the start of my HRT treatment, and it's the day that we honor all the transgender lives we lost this year. As of today (11/10), there have been 384 reports of violence against trans people worldwide. These murders and other instances of violence happen because of the stigma surrounding the trans community and the oppressive systems that keep people from thriving. If the trans community had the bodily autonomy we deserved, this number would without a doubt, fall.

It has come time that I feel the need to step into the next chapter of my transition, but this means reneging in the fight against the healthcare system that I so dislike. The procedures I need to undergo to feel more comfortable navigating my life are the same procedures many of us lack access to. It is the lack of access to these procedures that perpetuates the cycle of violence. I have booked a surgery for 12/15/22 that I’ve waited years to pull the trigger on, and I need some support.
