Creating a save haven for the children of Bolivia!
Many of you may know that over the past several years my kids and I have had the privilege of participating in short-term mission trips to Guayaramirin Bolivia to work at a local orphanage. And what an amazing blessing it's been! The work there has been such a success that just last year we were able to break ground on a brand new orphanage in the city of Riberalta which is not too far away. When I joined the team in 2013 the orphanage on Guayaramirin was already operational. But what an exciting opportunity it is to be part of the team that makes this next orphanage a reality.
As some of you know, Nate has since graduated college and will be leaving soon for his next adventure: teaching English to elementary children in a small town in Japan for a year. We are so excited for him! I had hoped this would be our last big adventure before he leaves us but unfortunately, the dates don't line up and he won't be able to visit the orphanage this year. :(
Nevertheless, I know that God will use me to do amazing things this trip.
My commitment to this project will take a lot of energy, time and money and part of the preparation for this trip is raising our own support. This provides an opportunity for people in our lives to come alongside us and partner with us in this amazing experience.
The total trip duration will be about 2 weeks and the entire cost to send a single person down there this time is around $2400 (a little less than last year). I know, this sounds like a lot…. and it is. But keep this covers everything: flights, living expenses, ground transportation, food, international paperwork, emergency health insurance, and even construction materials for our service project.
So I am praying for people who can give $20, $50, $100… really anything towards our goal. Some of the expenses (like airfare for example) had to be paid by me in advance with the trust that these funds will eventually come in. But having done this so many times I can honestly say... they always do. God always provides :)
So if you would like to help me financially in any way… thank you so much! And if you just can’t, I completely understand and would ask that instead you would be praying for me as I prepare, raise support and ultimately safely head down to Bolivia. I love seeing how God uses the specific gifts that He's given me to serve Him and these people. Thanks for letting me share my excitement with you and for all of your support!
God Bless!
