Help Adam fundraise for the Democratic National Convention!

Greetings! It's me... Adam P. For those that don't know me (or you just want a quick refresher)- I’m a proud Iowan who grew up in rural Scott County. I’ve spent my adult years living in Muscatine, Iowa City, and now in Davenport. I was a precinct captain for Senator Obama and worked in professional capacities on campaigns for Pete Buttigieg (IA & CA), President Biden (PA), and Admiral Mike Franken (IA). I’ve just been elected as chair of the Iowa Stonewall Caucus and we've already hit the ground running to refresh and expand our reach. But the work I’m most proud of, I do right back where I grew up in the Quad Cities as the Director of Operations at Clock, Inc LGBT+ community center which has a whole host of life saving services.

We all have been horrified to see our state taking giant steps backwards regarding LGBT+ rights. Queer Iowans don’t always feel safe… Some families are making the painstaking but understandable decision to leave our state to protect their children. We’ve seen this at Clock, Inc.

When I was struggling with my sexuality during my younger years- one of the only lights in my life was my dear Grandmother. She sent me a letter with a quote she wrote in her beautiful cursive, “Adam - life is rough, don’t complain… be like the robin, singing in the rain.”

Today, I’m asking for a donation to be a national delegate to send a powerful message - LGBT+ Iowans are still here. We are the robins singing in the rain. We refuse to be bullied out of our home state and we are not afraid to fight for an Iowa that is equal for all. Statistics show young people are leaving our state… but this young person is staying to roll up his sleeves and elect the most pro-LGBT+ administration EVER to a second term to finish the job.

I put my life on hold to work for Joe Biden to defeat Trump. I now am honored to be elected to serve as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago to nominate Vice President Harris as our nominee. The cost that comes with this honor is pretty large (hotel rooms are $400 a night), and as a non-profit worker - it's not like I'm rolling in the dough.
