Help Adam Zisser Overcome Esophageal Cancer
Donation protected
Friends and community! We need the combined efforts of multiple resources to assist one of Ball Ground’s families who is currently dealing with an aggressive form of life-threatening cancer.
Adam Zisser has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer, a fast-growing cancer known to limit lifespan if not treated aggressively and swiftly. A golf ball-sized tumor resides in the area that connects Adam’s esophagus to his stomach. During the diagnosis process, an aneurysm was also found and recently surgically treated at Northside Hospital-Cherokee.
Currently, Adam is being treated at Georgia Cancer Center through immunotherapy in attempts to keep the cancer from growing and spreading. On November 5, Adam is scheduled to undergo a complex eight-to-ten-hour surgery to address the tumor at Atlanta Piedmont Hospital. As invasive as this surgery will be, his recovery is expected to be lengthy.
Thankfully, Adam’s job as a truck driver provides insurance though it comes with a high annual deductible. The family has applied for assistance through Social Security Disability as well as working directly with Northside and Piedmont hospitals, but Piedmont requires payment for all services upfront.
With Adam on disability, much of the family’s financial responsibility is currently falling on his wife, Kelley, who works at a local pet store and runs a dog boarding facility at home. As can be imagined, personal savings were quickly depleted, and current resources are being drained quickly by medical bills not covered by insurance.
The first step to help the Zisser family is to start gathering contributions that will provide financial support to this hard-working family. A GoFundMe account has been created for anyone wishing to donate to the Zisser family to help offset medical bills. The Zissers are extremely grateful for your interest, generosity, and prayers.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 NIV
