Support the Shuchter Family

Adam and Heather have rarely been in quite the same place doing quite the same thing for very long. It’s often the case that people whose lives change frequently like that are rolling stones who don’t collect much moss; they have relatively fewer strong, lasting connections. But Adam and Heather have a multitude of friends; everywhere they’ve been, there are people with vivid memories of their generosity, kindness and warmth. Wherever they go, with whatever they have to offer, the Shuchters are always helping.

For many, many people who know Adam and Heather, we met them because they helped us. For some of us, Adam and Heather brought energy and stability to a struggling church. For others, Adam and Heather’s home was a safe place in the middle of chaos. For others, Adam and Heather were the only people at a new church who could understand the struggles of addiction; the only people unflustered by the baggage of our past.

Sometimes, rather than meeting an obvious, immediate need, Adam and Heather helped us by encouraging us to grow as people, business leaders and followers of Jesus. Adam’s business acumen helped numerous businesses understand how to be better stewards of what God had placed in their care. Adam and Heather’s example and admonition inspired others of us who struggled to be generous, or welcoming, or who struggled not to be flustered by the scars of another person’s past. For others, we began to understand from Adam and Heather’s example what it means to move when the Spirit says move, and to follow Jesus without fear.

If you’re like me, if you’re one of the many, many people who’ve been welcomed, warmed, fed, heard, encouraged, admonished, inspired or equipped by Adam, Heather, Anikin and Asher, we ask that you join us in supporting the Shuchters in their hour of need.

In the second half of 2021, Adam was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and the family returned to Ohio to seek the best treatment available. Adam is now on Hospice care. All donations will go to the family.
