Help Add Additional Bathrooms at El Rio!

Dear DEAR Friends,

We are El Rio: community space/venue/gathering place, magic margarita producer/patio pit stop/queer cuddle clutch - and we care about you and your bladders!

We are all aware of the bathroom lines around here and how they can…linger.

Have you met some great people in the bathroom lines? Yes! Have you shimmied with your neighbor? Made a love connection, perhaps? GOTTEN MARRIED IN THE BATHROOM LINE EVEN?? We hope so.

To know us is to love us, and to love us is to get zen about our bathroom lines. 2023 BABIES. We are entering a NEW ERA here at El Rio. We hope to add two new bathrooms (one accessible bathroom and one two-stall bathroom) to our current setup to help alleviate some of the pressure on our existing and excellent toilets and some of the pressure on your existing and excellent bladders.

The current predicted cost is $250,000.

YEEEEOUCH.

But the best news is that we have a donor, AN ABSOLUTE ANGEL, who will match every cent raised!

So we are looking to our beloved community to help raise $125,000.

We hope to begin work in early January of 2023 and finish construction by the end of February.

With the help of our great friends Maryam Rostami and Kate Thorson at TEF Design, we hope to wow you with your new fave place to pee.

Funding Tiers:

For those who are able to offer financial aid at higher levels, we can extend the following incentives:

$5000 private party in the back room for you and 100 of your pals (Includes: private use of the back room, set up, $1,000 tab)

$5000 skip the line plus one for a year

$10,000 skip the line plus one for life

$10,000 we name one of the bathrooms after you (Ex: The Honorable I.P. Freely Powder Room)

$20,000 private party for you plus 100 of your closest pals on the patio (Includes: private daytime use of the patio/entire club, set up, $2,000 tab). *Email for date availability.

We can all agree that the past few years have been epically difficult. Being able to reopen and provide a space for all your gorgeous faces was the highlight of it all. We hope with this newer iteration, we can continue to bring folks together to celebrate weirdness and wildness, love in all forms, and perseverance - with a slightly shorter wait to pee!
