Help Addie Recover and Live Independently Again
Donation protected
Hi my name is Ann and I'm helping fundraise for my friend Addie. Addie has spent the past 6 weeks in the hospital recovering from open-heart surgery at the age of 39 due to a blood clot the size of an orange on her heart. We’re reaching out to let you know that we are kicking off a fundraising campaign to help our friend Addie Jeanette, and we need your help!
You may have heard that Addie experienced an aneurism last year, in which she spent a week in the hospital after having brain surgery. Addie was unable to work during recovery and thus was forced to quit her job. She lost everything she had and was forced to live with her Dad. Recovery has been ongoing since last year.
In August, it was discovered that Addie had a large mass growing near her heart. She had open heart surgery just a few weeks ago, where the Drs found a blood clot the size of a fist. They were able to remove the blood clot successfully. Her current recovery is scary and painful, and her prognosis is not completely known. Addie will need to transition to a long term nursing facility very soon. She is almost completely alone in her recovery, as well as in her strive to get back on her feet again. Addie has always been able to support not only herself, but other members of her family. Due to Addie’s inability to work for the last year, she has no income, and no way to support herself. This has brought on a level of depression that Addie has never experienced before. She is not comfortable asking for help, but she has no other option.
Prior to all of this, Addie had been taking care of her Mother for the last 10+ years. Her Mom had a series of aneurysm’s over the last several years, and over time, it has affected both her Mom’s physical and mental health and strained Addie's mental health giving more to others than she did for herself.
Addies illness and her continuing need to recuperate and heal with no income will require everyone’s help. She needs help paying rent, monthly bills, medical co-pays, groceries, and many other general living expenses. Our goal is to raise $5,000.
You can help in the following ways:
• Give a gift today via Venmo: @addiejeanette or Cash App: $AddieJeanette
• Think about pledging a monthly gift to Addie to help pay for rent and food.
• Help us fundraise with your own fundraiser! If you can’t afford to give yourself, please think about pledging to fundraise from your own friends and family on her behalf. If you can attract 10 donations of $25, it would have a great impact.
• Help us by sharing this post with family and friends that might be able to help.
If you have other ideas, we are happy to hear them as well. Otherwise, please consider making as generous a gift as you can today, or pledging to do so in the coming months toward our $5,000 fundraising goal.
Sincerely,
Friends of Addie
