Help Addie's Family Recover from Wildfire Impact

Hi everyone, My name is Addie and I live on the border of Altadena and Pasadena with my parents Lorraine & Chris and our dog, Lovie. I have lived in the same house all my life. I am reaching out to all our friends and family today to let you know that we are safe, but sadly, we have been affected by the Eaton Canyon wildfire along with so many of our friends and neighbors. We were evacuated the night of the fires and while trying to evaluate, during the storm when I was trying to drive away, I learned that my catalytic converter had been stolen. Luckily, we were able to escape the fires that reached my street, and came as close as a few houses away. Many of our neighbors lost their homes completely to the fires, and it seems that many of my childhood friends have too. My elementary burned down completely, and my middle school and high school was damaged a great deal as well. My childhood stomping grounds are lost forever!

Since the night we were evacuated by the hurricane winds and fire, we’ve been living in my aunt's house and now we are in a hotel because of all the ash and smoke damage to our house. Although we didn’t physically lose our house, we will not be able to live there for a long time. As many of you know, my Mom is an artist and an art teacher. She works really hard and is super giving to everyone. She always provides for me and cares for all her friends and students deeply. She is my role model and I want to be able to help her now. Just yesterday, we found out my Stepdad got laid off from his job. It has been a very stressful situation for my family and I think we could use some help. I am in my second year of college and I want to be able to help my parents in some way. Please help me in assisting my Mom with all these extra expenses such as our vehicle and home repairs, hotel expenses, extra food costs because we have to eat out so much, and all the other stuff I can’t think of right now. I would really appreciate any support you can give us at this time. I would be very grateful.
