Help the Brave teacher who wrote a book while suffering from Paralysis, bladder dysfunction and Kidney failure! This is an urgent plea for help to save our brother, son, partner, father and friend Adew.
A few words from Kidist T.
Hello everyone, My name is Kidist.
First and foremost, thank you for clicking to read my story.
Adew Zerihun is from Ethiopia (East Africa) and has spent his adult life teaching Chemistry at different schools and Colleges. His passion for teaching is unimaginable. My best friend, Adew, is the most determined and selfless person I have ever known. He is very kind, caring and loved by everyone who knows him.
Adew is married to Buzayehu Amsalu and got a beautiful daughter, Betselot. Adew had a car accident ten years ago that left him paralysed. He went to Thailand for spinal treatment with families, friends, and community support but with no positive outcome. Getting back to his home country with a wheelchair continued his effort to support himself and his family by providing tutorial sessions for students.
After a few years, he could not control his urine, leading to bladder dysfunction and kidney failure. Now he needs dialysis three days a week which costs him £140 per week (£3360 for six months); bladder reconstruction and kidney transplant will cost him almost £59,000.
He cannot take pain relief, worrying for his liver not to get damaged. Therefore, he chose to bear the pain and read and write supplementary chemistry books as pain relief. He has successfully prepared a Chemistry Crossword Puzzle book (in English) for children in their year/grade 7-12.
"I have lots of plans and works on the pipe, and what I need is your support in helping to reduce the pain I am experiencing and financial stress. You can also help by buying the book I prepared for children and young people or donating it to those children who could not afford it or to libraries in Ethiopia and beyond".
I and other Adew's friends and his previous students are raising money to help Adew.
1. to defeat the complex health situation by going abroad (Please state health after your donations) and
2. to reach children and libraries in Urban and Rural parts of Ethiopia through his Chemistry Puzzle Book, please sponsor the book from £5.00 (includes delivery cost) (Please state books next to your contributions).
We always have to have HOPE, and we appreciate you reading this and anything you can do to help my friend Adew no matter how big or small.
