Help Adrian Burke Recover and Return Home

My name is Kathy and I am requesting help for my friends Malvina and Adrian Burke. On April 17, Malvina and Adrian went to Turks and Caicos for a one week vacation. Adrian has a 30 year history of congestive heart failure and was thrilled when the doctor cleared him to go on this trip with his wife.

On April 19, Adrian became very short of breath and was admitted to the local hospital in Turks and Caicos with an acute flare up of his heart failure. On April 21, he was medically evacuated via air ambulance to Broward Hospital in Florida.

Adrian remains admitted to Broward Hospital and is in the Intensive Care Unit. He is on life support and unconscious. A hematoma was found in his brain. He had a craniectomy and blood clot removal on 5/1. His wife Malvina has never left his side and is fighting for him to live. This has been very hard on her, especially since the family lives in New Jersey. They have a 13 year old son Benjamin, who hasn’t seen his father since they left. Benjamin will be graduating 8th grade next month and starts high school in the fall. He misses his father and hasn’t seen him except on video calls where Adrian is unable to respond.

Adrian will remain hospitalized until he is stable enough to return home to NJ. They have travel insurance, but it only covered costs for the first week. Funds raised will help with the costs associated with Adrian’s medical care, travel expenses, and transfer home.
