Help Adrian fight bladder cancer
Donation protected
In July of 2022, my brother-in-law, Adrian, received news that would alter his life drastically when he was diagnosed with muscle-invasive high-grade urothelial bladder carcinoma. This news came as a devastating shock not only to Adrian but to his entire family.
Just days before receiving his diagnosis, Adrian had to say goodbye to his beloved pet and constant companion, Scooby, as he suffered a spinal stroke rendering him paralyzed.
Still reeling from the loss of his beloved companion and his cancer diagnosis, Adrian was also laid off from his job.
Adrian started chemotherapy shortly after his diagnosis but then went into kidney failure. He was transferred from our local hospital to Cortelucci Vaughan, where he was admitted and treated for kidney failure. We hoped he would then be able to resume chemotherapy, but it was not to be. Adrian was too weak, and his body was not responding well to the chemo treatments. He was in a lot of pain, constantly nauseous, and unable to eat or hold down his medication. An MRI revealed that his cancer had metastasized and is now in his pelvis and rib. He is scheduled to begin palliative radiation.
Adrian has a very long road ahead of him. He is currently unable to work due to ongoing treatments, countless hospital stays, doctor appointments, upcoming surgeries and recovery, and he will be unable to work for quite some time. He is burdened with wondering how he will meet his monthly rent and living expenses.
I hope to alleviate some of that burden so he can focus on the fight that now lies before him. Through the kindness of those we have never met and those we have, please help me to help ease the burden on my brother-in-law so that he can focus on getting better and returning to the full life he once led before his diagnosis.
On behalf of Adrian, myself and Adrian’s family, we are very grateful for any support that will help ease the burden for the following days, weeks and months as he faces his toughest battle.
Most grateful for your support and your prayers.
