Help Adrian Get His Wheelchair Van

This is my sweet friend, Adrian. His smile and laugh light up any room!!! He loves Paw Patrol, being sung to, being read to, watching basketball, and toys with lights.

My name is Michelle Lindee, Child Development Specialist, with the Illinois Early Intervention program for the past 25 years. Helping families birth to age three in three counties with developmental therapy services through homevisits, developmental groups and community outings. I met Adrian and his mother when he was a tiny baby, and he immediately stole my heart!! I want him to be able to live his life and reach his full potential without any limits.

He is now 10 years old and in fifth grade. At 4’9” and 56lbs, it is getting seriously difficult to lift him into a vehicle. The family needs a passenger van with a wheelchair lift for doctor appointments and community outings. Mom is a very hard-working CNA that often works two jobs when necessary, which is very difficult with Adrian's many surgeries and hospital stays. As well as with battling her own health troubles and bouts of pain. They have an extremely tight extended family that sticks together and supports each other in every way. They of course think that Adrian hung the moon and love him and support him and challenge him every step of the way.

He has been diagnosed with encephalopathy, dyskinetic cerebral palsy, dystonia, seizures, global developmental delays and Allan-Herndon-Dudley Syndrome.

Mom and I have spent the past three years searching for state social service agencies and local charities that could help us with this endeavor, with no luck.

WE HAVE FOUND A WHEELCHAIR VAN TO PURCHASE!! For only $5000 which is a very generous offer from the previous owner...who wants the van to go to a family that needs it. Our first GO FUND ME (which took place two years ago) raised about $750 which we plan to use for the license plates, title transfer, gas, etc. And we are SUPER appreciative of the donors that supported our efforts!!

This GO FUND ME is set at $5150 due to the $150 that will be subtracted from our total for the 2.9% fee charged to run this fundraiser.
