Medical expenses for Adyen’s brain tumor

Donation protected
Seven weeks ago, my friend Shaleen’s 14 year old son, Adyen Gomez started complaining of headaches. The headaches were persistent and increased in severity. Three weeks ago, after Adyen crumbled in pain after his soccer game, Shaleen knew something was wrong. She took him from urgent care to urgent care and doctor to doctor until finally fighting for an MRI. He was admitted into the hospital on 11/14/2021 after the MRI tragically revealed that Adyen had a brain tumor. The tumor is located in the 3rd ventricle of his brain. The tumor is causing hydrocephalus (fluid in his brain) and swelling. Within days, once active Adyen, lost coordination and the majority of his sight. The first operation on Adyen’s brain was 50% successful, but abruptly halted when the doctors found an unexpected hematoma in his brain. Adyen will be needing another surgery, which is set to take place on Wednesday 11/24. During this surgery, they will be taking a biopsy of the tumor to test its malignancy. They will also be placing a shunt to drain the cerebral fluid that has been accumulating in his brain. Hopefully this surgery is successful and will begin the road to his recovery.

Everyone who knows Ayden aka “Gomez” knows he’s outgoing, witty, loving, smart, full of energy and so handsome. He’s a great soccer player, annoying brother and a mama’s  boy all wrapped up in one.

I am raising money to help my friend Shaleen, mother of three, with medical expenses as well as help to supplement her income until she can go back to working regular hours. Anything you can give is appreciated! Even if it is just words of encouragement for Adyen’s fight. Thank you!
