Help Afaf and her family evacuate Gaza

I am Sophia Kontomisios and I am organising this fundraiser on behalf of Afaf Mohammad and her family. Afaf, her father Muhammad, her mother Elham, her sisters Nadia, Asmaa, Shaza, Marah and her younger brother Issa, are all trying to raise funds to evacuate Gaza.

I live in the UK, and will be transferring the funds to Afaf and her family. Afaf reached out to me on instagram a few weeks ago, and we have been in contact since. Please consider donating and please share Afaf’s story:

Dear friends and sympathetic supporters,

I reach out to you today with a heavy heart and a request for help

My name is Afaf, from Gaza. I am 17 years old. I am in Deir al-Balah. I ask you to help and donate to me, even if just a little, in order to evacuate Gaza with me and my family, and share my donation link with you on social media sites and on your Instagram story.

Here in Gaza we suffer from malnutrition and lack of food as well. We need your solidarity and assistance. I hope you will not be stingy with us. I was studying as a student in high school, and in the same year that the war on Gaza broke out, I wanted to take my high school exams in order to reach my goal and my ambition that had been going on inside me for years, and this war came and destroyed everything for us, and nothing can exist on this earth without it. Ashes. We see many horrific scenes, killings, and forced displacement that we face daily.

I ask everyone to consider my story and support me, even if it is just a little.

But now, I have reached a point where I feel sorrow, and I urgently request your humble financial assistance to evacuate them from Gaza because there is no safe place. In addition to the slow deaths due to drought, displacement, the spread of diseases, and continuous bombardment. The choice may be extremely painful, but the situation has become critical

My family has been displaced since the first week of the war because of the seriousness of the situation in our neighborhood. Our residential area was threatened several times, forcing us to be displaced more than 4 times.

We have endured many months of hell and horror. This genocide has gone on for too long, our mental health is non-existent, and our lives are in constant danger. I cannot describe my feeling when I hear news of the complete annihilation of families and their removal from civil registries. More than a hundred days of genocide and ethnic cleansing have brought us to a point where there is no longer any hope for us here in Gaza. We are waiting for our turn to die, as if it was destined for us and the people of Gaza. Gaza has suffered devastation that will take years to repair.

To cross the "Rafah" border between Gaza and Egypt, you need to have your name added to the crossing list (paid). Coordinators in Egypt, who have the ability to add strict names to the strict borders, are starting from $5000 - $7000 per person! Their names will not be found until they can prove the available funds.

As a family member, I won't be able to live with myself if something happens to my family, and I am doing my best to get them out. Please help me get them out, and I will genuinely appreciate any donation, no matter how small, as it will make a big difference in alleviating our suffering. Please consider sharing my campaign widely with friends and the community to reach the goal as quickly as possible because every moment represents a risk of death in Gaza.
