Help Afghan Refugees in the Seattle Area

Hi, I'm a volunteer for Welcome Home Refugees, WA, and we are helping Afghan refugees being resettled in the Seattle area. We are gathering donated household goods, clothing, bicycles, and furniture for the refugees being settled in this area.

RIGHT NOW, we need to raise funds to pay for a new storage unit in Kent, which is closer than the Lynnwood storage unit. That one is currently being paid for by an individual.

WE ALSO need funds for transporting goods and donations to refurbish cell phones for refugees. If the fundraiser is very successful, we may be able to buy a used minivan to help consistently transport donations. Anything you give will be appreciated!

I am sure that many of you are like me: horrified at what has happened to Afghanistan and the Afghanistani people. This is one way of helping. Please join me in remembering we were all refugees once and that there are refugees who need our help now.
