Help Lara, Evan, and Their Young Family After the Tragic Loss of Baby Itzel Maeve

On Thursday morning, Lara and Evan woke up to every parent’s worst nightmare. When Lara went to check on their 9-week-old daughter, Itzel, she found her unresponsive and cold to the touch. In a panic, Evan immediately began CPR while they dialed 911. Despite their desperate efforts, there was nothing that could be done. Their precious baby girl was gone.

Itzel was so loved and so wanted every day of her life. She was a beautiful light in their family, and the suddenness of her passing has left them shattered.

Doctors believe the cause was Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) - a heartbreaking and unexplained tragedy that no family should ever have to endure.

How You Can Help

As they navigate this unimaginable loss, Lara and Evan are also facing unexpected financial hardships. Evan was laid off last year, and while he found work as a contractor, he does not qualify for benefits like FMLA. This means no paid leave, no safety net, and mounting expenses at a time when they need support the most.

We are raising funds to ease their burden so they can grieve without the added weight of financial stress.

Donations will go toward:
  • Funeral expenses to give Itzel the farewell she deserves
  • Therapy and emotional support for Lara, Evan, and especially their three remaining children - ages 1, 3, and 5 - who are struggling to understand why their baby sister is no longer here
  • Giving Evan time to grieve without the immediate financial pressure to return to work
  • Providing meals for the family during this difficult time

Be Part of Their Support Community

My heart is shattered for this young family. No parent should have to worry about finances in the midst of such heartbreak. Even a small donation - $5, $10, whatever you can give - will help them feel supported, seen, and surrounded by love. If you’re unable to give, simply sharing this fundraiser would mean the world to them.

Thank you for your kindness, support, prayers, and love during this devastating time. Let’s come together as a community and show them they are not alone.
