Help Ahmad's Family Find Safety

Hello, I'm Ahmad Algandour, and I am from northern Beit Lahia in Gaza, where I grew up alongside my six brothers, six sisters, and my mother and father. Prior to the destruction of war, our lives were simple and joyful as we lived as a close-knit family. We owned two neighboring houses, bustling bakery, and a supermarket managed by my brothers, and I honed my skills as an upholsterer alongside my father in his furniture shop. Sadly, all of this was abruptly taken away in the first weeks of the war, leaving us stripped of our homes, the bakery, and my father's cherished business. The magnitude of our loss transcends material possessions; we also lost 25 of our family members, including uncles, aunts, cousins, and my 16 year old nephew, and my brother who was shot dead by an Israeli sniper while waiting for aid. Our family, other than my brother who was killed by the sniper, was tragically lost in a single day, 22nd of october 2023, in an Israeli airstrike on our relatives’ home in our neighborhood
