Help Aid & Abet rebuild after a massive theft
Tax deductible
Aid & Abet is a small nonprofit project that has been a vital backbone for progressive social movements in the Bay Area. Since 2018, we've supported hundreds of protests, marches, rallies, press conferences, trainings, car caravans, and community arts events by offering logistical and event production expertise. We provide sound systems, solar-powered generators, communications radios, projectors, screens, stages, and podiums - with nearly 90% of the events we support at no charge for grassroots movements. We've worked with over 150 community organizations across Northern California - and were imminently signing a lease to create a community equipment cache and training space.
On March 25th - as we went to load up equipment for the Youth Climate Strike - we discovered that our storage unit had been robbed. We lost about $22,000 in equipment - and unfortunately, insurance will not cover the loss. With the COVID pandemic transitioning, we are expecting (and hoping) that we’ll see more people on the streets fighting for justice, which means more requests for Aid & Abet to support them - but without the equipment to do so.
If you live in the Bay Area - maybe you’ve called on us to support your event (if not, you should!). If you’ve been in the streets for a march, protest, or rally in the past several years - we’ve likely been there behind the scenes, humbly helping organizers and frontline communities to literally make sure their voices were heard or seen. But now we need your help to rebuild - can you throw down a few dollars (or more)?
Aid & Abet is a fiscally-sponsored project of the Oil and Gas Action Network (a 501c3 charitable organization) - which means your donations are tax-deductible, and 100% of the funds raised will be used to help rebuild a crucial component of Bay Area social movement infrastructure.
