Help Aidan march the Madison Scouts
Donation protected
Hi everyone! If you don't know me, my name is Aidan Kane; I'm a first generation college student studying music education at Texas Christian University. I'm fundraising to march my rookout year on mellophone with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle corps. Since I discovered the activity as a freshman in high school, I've dreamt of marching in a world-class drum corps, but as a clarinetist, the only way to do this was to learn a brass instrument. Over the last year, I taught myself trumpet (and mellophone) while studying as a full-time student and working as a clarinet lesson teacher and marching technician. I began the process of auditioning for the Madison Scouts in November 2021 and was offered a contract in March 2022. Marching with the Madison Scouts is a once-in-a-lifetime performance opportunity (performers age out when they turn 21) and will also equip me with invaluable tools and experience as an aspiring band director.
The members and staff are all wonderful people and musicians, and they've been nothing but welcoming. My time as a Madison Scout hasn't been long, but after I already know there's no place I'd rather spend my summer.
My fundraiser is to help pay for the $4,900 tuition, which goes to housing, travel costs, food, show design, and educational staff. On June 3rd, I'll move in with the Scouts for spring training. Our tour kicks off on July 2nd and concludes with the DCI World Championchips beginning August 11th. During that time, we'll travel throughout the country performing for audiences of thousands of spectators. Donations of any size will be incredibly appreciated and go immediately toward my tuition. Sharing my fundraiser will also go a long way (:
Thank you so much!
