Help Aj fight for his life

Dear Family, Friends and Community,

I'm reaching out to you because I've finally started a GoFundMe “In supporting Alfonzia Jackson, Jr. (AJ), my loving husband of eight years, who is in the hospital struggling with a battle against the Covid-19 virus, the first confirmed UK Variant Strain in Alabama” and I wanted to share my story with you. My name is Ashley Jackson a mother to two (2) daughters (Alivia & Aria),
With humble hearts me and my girls are asking for help from anyone who can help and/or donate. We are trying to raise money for my husband Alfonzia Jackson Jr. who is 35 years of age. My love has devoted every inch of his being to providing for our family. To make sure our daughters never went without. Went to the doctor for COVID like symptoms, fatigue shortness of breath fever headache vomiting, the countless negative COVID test. UAB admitted him on Friday 1/22/21 tested negative with rapid and the PCR for COVID. His heart has begun to fail, and his kidneys have been severely damaged. This leading him to have an emergency surgery on 01/22/21. Where an ECMO machine was placed on him. ECMO a heart-lung machine used in heart surgery for longer periods of time temporarily takes over the work of the heart and lungs so they can rest and heal. ECMO is used when usual treatments are not working. On 1/23/21 We were informed that Alfonzia has a clot in his heart. The clot resides in his left ventricle. This clot has been identified as a new strand viral infection from long term exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Yet In recovery in the CICU later learned that at the hands of COVID-19 he had fallen ill and although he is symptomatic doctors stated he was not contagious that this was part of why his internal organs where severely damage. They have explained that they cannot do anything more without risking the spread of the virus to his brain. As of 01/24/21 he has been placed on a ventilator due to inability to breath on his own. On 01/26/21 I was informed that due to the multiple clots in his body there is not much more they can do for him now. His recovery is solely dependent upon the machine and his body. According to his doctor on 1/27/21 lungs liver and kidneys are recovering, but the heart is still affected they are considering a possible artificial heart transplant yet with that good news came more alarming news I was informed by the Jefferson County Health Department that he was diagnosed with the UK strand of COVID and I have been instructed to get test and to Quarantine for 20 days from the last time I was exposed to him. As a Wife I wish to be by my husband side and as Mother I still need to be capable of providing for my baby girls by any means. AJ’s financial support loss that is on hold due to his illness and the short time I have been on my new employment which has the potential to be at risk with me having to take off time from work to tend to AJ’s care. I am asking with a humble heart for you all to please help me and my family though our storm. Your support will truly help lift the burden I am facing today with your financial support; I have reached out to both of our immediate family members and we have raised ($1,000 thus far and the targeted goal I am seeking to get us through this crisis period is $100,000)

If you could support my GoFundMe by donating and then sharing it with your network, I would greatly appreciate it. I know that money can be tight, so please know that even $5 helps me get closer to my goal!  Let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to answer them.  Thank you so very much with a humble heart!

Gratitude and Appreciation,
