Help AJ get an emotional support animal

Hi, my name is AJ. I'm a disabled nonbinary artist who is coping with the recent loss of my 16 year old emotional support animal, Dr. Pumpkin. He developed cancer and passed suddenly a month ago, and while I've been doing the best I can to take care of myself, living alone is severely impacting my mental and physical well-being. My disabilities not only make it impossible for me to work a full-time job, they also affect my day to day living. I'm struggling with basic self-care and an appetite so low that I'm barely managing to eat one meal a day, to say nothing of how hard it is to sleep alone.

While no one will ever replace the cat that I loved with all of my heart, I know that I need a new support in my life. I am planning to adopt a cat from the local humane society, but adoption fees range from $200-300 (which is very reasonable considering the level of care their animals are given). I've set my goal at $350 to account for the processing fees associated with a GoFundMe campaign.

I do have a small savings, but spending it on an adoption fee would leave me vulnerable in the event that something major comes up. I also want to maintain it so that I can afford any special dietary needs or veterinary care that my adopted cat may require. It's important to me that I be able to properly care for another living being. I also intend to get pet insurance for them as soon as I've adopted.

Any amount helps, and every penny will go toward the adoption and care of my new emotional support animal.
