Help Akela with End of Life Bills

Hi, this is Akela, Hapa's parent. I adopted her 8 years ago from the local humane society and she instantly became my best friend and partner in crime. I genuinely believe she was my soulmate. She had a beautiful, long life filled with love and adventure, and was herself up until the very end. The photo above is her just a few weeks before her passing.

She passed away on Monday, May 20th at 1:35pm in my arms after spending the day with many of her favorite people. If you've met her, you know how special of a dog she was. She loved everyone she met and was such a sweet, emotional, loving pup. She was also silly, and bratty, and made strangers laugh everyday. I have never met anyone like her and she's completely changed my life in every single way, and I've become a better person because of her.

Her loss was sudden and shocking, and the vet bills associated with her end of life have been incredibly stressful. I shared my venmo information two days ago, and have already raised $1,000. I am so incredibly touched by the support, and don't know how to thank my community enough. I have made this page if you would like to add to the bill payback fund ($4k+ in total). Her loss feels enormous in the world, not just in my life, but my community's as well. She had a million friends! She was a goofball and a lover and the best dog I've ever met in my life. I will be having a memorial service for her in June - please stay tuned for the details.
