Help Alaa Get Her Family Out Of Gaza To Egypt

~Update from Alaa, 23rd June 2024:

Today we are at the day 262 of war, after we evacuated from Rafah. Unfortunately this time we live in a tent and you can imagine how it is hard for my elderly parents, and one brother who has cron’s disease, to live in this horrible situation.

We live under high heat, face lot of difficulties to have basic needs to our lives such as clean water, have a shower, go bathroom or make a fire to cook or drink a cup of tea.

About me i lost my weight, it is 44 now and my skin become black and has skin problems in my hands. I always depressed cause I live like old people in everything without any rights even i don’t have a bed or some private life.

About my job I hardly find one project to work on and to have Internet I go to street and work from it. So I try so much to come back to my normal life…

Hi, my name is Deirbhile and I’m fundraising to help my friend Alaa and her family evacuate from Gaza to reach safety in Egypt. I’ve known Alaa for about four years now. We were introduced by a mutual friend as part of The Omar Project, which paired people in Palestine who wanted to improve their English, with native English speakers. We spoke, first over messages and then through voice notes, and learned about each other’s lives, sharing celebrations or special moments with each other. She would often share news and pictures of her family, with whom she’s very close. Since October 7th we’ve been in contact as Alaa and her family have had to leave their home and often lack the basic necessities for survival, as you can read below. She and her family have now made the decision to evacuate from Gaza, in order to rebuild their lives. We would both really appreciate your help if you can spare anything.

Alaa’s Story - Rebuilding Dreams

Wake up in the morning, suddenly find my life is ZERO

Actually BIG ZERO. From 200 days my life has been nothing full of frustrated, depressed and sadness.

My name is Alaa El Husseini from Gaza. I live a horrible life under war, when I said I lost my work you think it’s not a big thing to donate for! But with my broken heart I felt that my work was stolen from me as a content writer in a marketing company and freelancer which made me an independent woman, and have success in this life.

I didn’t reach this position easily or in a normal way, it costs me 10 years of my life to have a work. It started from my University journey, volunteering in schools as an English teacher, working in a kindergarten to save some money to take courses in content writing. Then, I worked-hard 4 years in this way to be a successful SEO content writer working with foreign clients from all over the world. This was my life until 7th October which is reached alone.

We have to evacuate more than one times, my family is separated and we don’t even have the luxury of communicating with each other. My life has become empty, I don’t have the chance to work, dream, live or survive from War.

After losing all savings, homes, this is the last option and choice for us!

Please take my hand to rebuild my life and to have dreams again in working and life to have a new laptop, access to the internet, feel safe, rework with previous and new clients.

I need urgently want to evacuate to Egypt with my small family (dad, mum, 3 brothers) Ehab, my twin , he is a lawyer, Rashad, and Hamdi (who has Crones disease who needs special foods and care.)

The evacuation cost is 5000$ for each person

إعادة الأمل لبناء حياتي من الصفر

الساعة ٧ صباحًا، تستيقظ كعادتك لكن تجد حياتك تساوي صفررر، بالواقع إذا كان يوجد أقل من الصفر فهو كذلك. من ٢٠٠ يوم وحياتي لا تساوي شيء حتى كيس البلاستيك الفارغ له قيمة أكثر مني. اكتئاب و توتر و إحباط….كل هذه المشاعر السلبية و أكثر.

اسمي ألاء الحسيني من غزة، أعيش أسوء أيام الحياة في حرب طاحنة تطحنني وتدمرني و تحولني من فتاة شابة إلى فتاة مُحبطة بلا أي حياة.

إذا قُلت لك أن هذه الحرب أفقدتني عملي، قد تستغرب و لا تُريد التبرع بالفعل الجميع فقد عمله! لكني أشعُر أن حياتي قد سُرقت مني وليس عملي لأنه كان كل حياتي، الجهد و التعب والسهر ليالي طويلة حيث إنني كاتبة محتوى مُحترفة و مترجمة، عملي جعل مني إمرأة مستقلة لا تعتمد على أي أحذ و أزال كل العواقب بالعقلية الشرقية ضد أي فتاة من طريقي.

(كاتبة محتوى) حتى يتم كتابة هذا الوصف الوظيفي فقد كلفني ذلك الكثير والكثير حوالي ١٠ سنوات و خصوصًا في ظل إنعدام الفُرص في قطاع غزة بدءًا من حياتي الجامعية، التطوع في المدارس و العمل كمعلمة لغة إنجليزية في الروضة، دراسة عدة دورات في كتابة المحتوى حتى أصل للعمل في شركات التسويق الإلكتروني ككاتبة محتوى متخصصة في السيو و غيرها من الأمور. هذه كانت حياتي قبل أن تساوي صفر.

حاليًا حياتي واقفة و لا أقدر على العمل لا أنا و لا أفراد عائلتي و لا يوجدد لدينا فرصة للحلم، وضع الأهداف أو النجاة.

ما تبخلوا بأي قرش بسيط يساعدني في إعادة بناء حياتي و أحلامي مع أسرتي!
