Help Alaa survive the iraq crisis

My name is Alaa Mahdi Yousif. I am a 24 year old man currently residing in Baghdad, Iraq. As you might be aware of, Iraq is a country suffering from perpetual political unrest. Our government is deeply corrupt and our efforts to remove those in positions of power have been unsuccessful. Not too long ago we held a protest against the government, which ended with the loss of many innocent lives, including those of people I know. Those who participated are still being targeted by the local militia to this day, with me being one of such targets. I have been attacked by armed men on my way to work and at work multiple times, but have managed to survive thus far. Gunfire and random attacks are something I can expect on a regular basis here.

My dream is to save up enough money to escape this place some day. Although I do hold a degree in petroleum engineering, the government chooses to hire foreign workers instead of domestic workers, making it impossible to find a job in the current market. Recently I lost all of my savings that I was hoping to open a shop with (25k USD in cash, as bank accounts are controlled by the government) from a robbery committed by the militia members and I am struggling to get back on my feet. I currently work as a builder and I make very little money, and some days I don’t have any earnings at all. I wish to leave this job and open my own shop at home, which is why I am in need of your help. My friend is helping me open and manage this fundraiser, as the money will be safer with her. The funds will be used to buy the needed resources to build and open up my store, any dollar helps.
