Help A Family from Gaza Survive this War
Donation protected
My name is Bacil. I started this fundraiser for my family who had lived in Gaza war zone with poor living conditions and no safe shelter in hopes I can evacuate them from Gaza. I live in UK and I have been supporting my family with all I can stand financially, but their living costs being war refugees with no jobs or house and evacuation fees are extremely high, and I have not been able to bear these costs on my own. My brother in Gaza, Alaa, suggested this fundraiser and we are seeking your kind support.
Humanitarian Appeal with a heartfelt message from Alaa:
Dear friends,
My name is Alaa, I am a pharmacist and a father of four beautiful children, who are my everything in this life. I lived in Gaza during this war. I have experienced living in the place of the saddest, deadliest and most horrifying war. Before the war, I had a dream of watching my children grow up in safety and receive proper education. I used to spend every effort to make their faces smile. In the night the war started, I could see all my dreams fading away. I could see tears and horror on my children's faces while hugging each other behind the bed, being scared from the sounds of bombardment. It was the time I felt clueless and unable to take their fear away. A war is the most horrific time for a human to go through... After few days of the war, everyone in Gaza City was asked to evacuate to south of the strip. This was the moment when we asked ourselves: Will there be a day that we see our home again? We evacuated the house with barely one set of clothes for each person and some water. Our neighbourhood was then bombed heavily like all others in Gaza City. I received the news that my pharmacy has been completely destroyed as an effect. It was an absolute heartbreak! This pharmacy was 30 years old, and it was granted to me by my mother who was a pharmacist before she passed away. It is now gone, and has taken all my future away with it. It was my only income in this life. We also found out that our house was severely damaged and uninhabitable.
In the south, we temporarily stayed in a friend's house. However, people living in this area of the strip were asked to flee again to Rafah - far south. We could not find a shelter over there! The only choice open to us was to build a tent and more sadly, we realised the tent costs $500! Everything has been extraordinarily expensive since the start of this war; Food, water, cooking gas and even a tent! No salaries, no income and people have to either die or live with starvation. I have taken my younger brother and we decided to make a tent that my brother, Bacil, donated money for. Then the weather has started to be worse and more rainy. The tent could not endure and we did not manage to equip the tent with what is needed for daily life. If you have no choice, you have to go with anything, and this was our case.
My brother, Moheeb, who was due to finish his masters degree in management has been severely affected with the war having no income or shelter. He has always prioritized my children to be fed first when there is lack of food. His expected graduation has changed into a deadly war.. something he was never going to expect.
I ran out of funds completely since the beginning of the war. Simply, my house and pharmacy were bombed. It has been heart breaking for me to see my children hungry. I was going everyday to try find some little food, cans and flour from international organisations supply. This looks like the impossible mission! Thousands of people are fighting for a loaf of bread and a bottle of water. Supplies are not enough, have never been! I felt dizzy and exhausted in the middle of people seeking food and had to give up with despair. I am a type-1 diabetic patient. I struggled to find my insulin. It has been very expensive that I could not afford. I have lived the worst nightmares in my life, where I could not satisfy my children with their needs. They are, as all children, innocently unable to understand the burdens and wish to live a happy childhood.
Every donation will make a difference in these critical days. Your donations, no matter how much they are, will make a huge impact on our family's safety, living conditions and future!
Thank you very much for your kind support.
Yours Sincerely,
