Help Alayna beat cancer a Second time!

Alayna was diagnosed with Ependymoma at 4 years old . She has fought so hard for the last 2 years. With treatments and surgeries related to treatment and side effects. Alayna was declared to be in remission in July of 2019. She has spent many days, weeks, months and holidays in the hospital.
In less than 1 year of being in remission, on May of 2020 MRI scans sent waves of concerns to her medical team. Alayna had to have an emergency surgery in May of 2020 due to side effects of previous cancer treatments. Cancer thoughts and discussions had to be put on hold. In July 2020 new scans alerted her medical team for concerns now to the brain. Planning and talks about how to address the new chapter had to be placed on hold as Alayna continued to fight for her life in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Tennesse about 2,000 miles away from Family and Friends in California from complications of her most recent surgery in May 2020.
Alayna was Med-Flight in August of 2020 from Tennesse (PICU) to California (PICU) to be closer to her Family and Friends. The Family was still unable to received visitations from her 2 young siblings do to COVID-19 hospital restrictions. Happily in October of 2020 she was finally discharged from Valley Children’s Hospital with a scheduled follow-up MRI in November of 2020. Alayna is still recovering from her May 2020 surgery and now her parents received a heartbreaking news that their little one will have to face a more harsh reality. A harder fight to fight, a second cancer diagnosis.
Her MRI scans in November of 2020 sent her parents in a state of shock and disbelief! Their little girl who has fought so hard, uncomplaining, resilient, radiating happiness and joy has a new fight to fight. Our 2nd Biggest Fight For Her Life! Our world was turned upside down yet again.
The Family currently awaits for Lucile Packard Children’s Stanford’s tumor board to review Alayna’s case and recommendations for next steps and planning treatments.
COVID-19 has made the situation worse. Especially through times like these amid continued COVID-19 disruptions. Unable to travel across the states from CA to TN since the outbreak is at its worse. Particularly important for children with underlying health conditions.
Please keep Alayna, our Family, and her Medical Team in your prayers. We hope that your continued prayers for Alayna will bring a MIRACLE!
The last couple of years have been extremely difficult for the family. As they went from 2-full time incomes to one. With new challenges but looking into the future we want to stay positive. Everyone can be inspired to take meaningful action, see things positively and try to make the best out of the situation. Never giving up Hope!
It’s extremely difficult to share her story with everyone, but the family decided to share to help raise awareness to other families dealing with cancer diagnosis, emphasizing in the importance of research, and helping in saving their little girl’s life. The costs of treatments add up as they continue fighting this fight. Making changes to their daily lives for the better outcome.
Your donation will help our family tremendously in our effort to pay for medical expenses that the insurance will not cover; travel, living and housing expenses. Please help alleviate some of the finances so that the family can focus all their efforts on her treatment, healing, and spending precious time together.
Every donation, whether big or small will help us. Please support our GoFundMe by donating, sharing, and praying. Thank you so much for your support!
The World really needs a reason to smile! Help Alayna beat Cancer a second time!
