Help Aleksandar Regain Use of His Hands!
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Dr. Radenka Maric, and I am Vice President for Research at the University of Connecticut and UConn Health, and I am leading the effort to help my friend, Aleksandar Djakovic, regain the use of his hands. He has qualified for life-changing surgery with Dr. Justin Brown from Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital.
Dr. Brown has revolutionized a nerve technique to help those who suffer from paralysis due to severe injuries regain mobility and improve their quality of life. Aleksander, who has been paralyzed since 2019, has undergone an evaluation by Dr. Brown, who has determined that with a nerve transfer, Aleksander will be able to regain use of both of his hands.
Aleksander is 27 years old, and graduated from New York City College in Prague before he was injured. He loves music, he speaks seven languages, and he hopes to once again teach children how to play golf.
Over the course of a year, Aleksander will undergo three surgeries, and nerves from other parts of his body will be transplanted to the nerves that control his hands.
My goal is to raise $50,000 to help cover costs associated with Aleksander's surgery which will not be covered by his health insurance.
Thank you for your kindness and support--I will send updates as Aleksander's condition improves.
