Help Alex and Gus Replace Stolen Truck

Help Alex and Gus get new wheels after their truck was stolen.

On the evening of Thursday, August 29th, Alex's truck was parked at the local mechanic shop waiting to be picked up after the work had been completed and it was stolen. The town of Waterbury had been hit with string of thefts the 29th and 30th.

Alex had recently bought this truck. Even though it was an oldy… it was her dream truck. A bright red, 2004 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 stick shift. Alex used the truck to carry tools to her trail building/advocacy job with the Waterbury Area Trails Alliance, and navigate the sometimes treacherous Vermont roads to her second job as a beertender at Lawson’s in the Mad River Valley.

On Monday, the Truck was recovered in New York State in possession of drug users, and is now being held as evidence in criminal investigation into the perpetrators. It is unclear when it will be released or the associated costs in the return. Unfortunately the theft was not covered by Alex’s insurance, so all associated costs would be out of pocket.

Alex had recently purchased the truck for $5000, and had just had 2626.13 of work done on it. The 7600 goal would help re-coup those losses.

To help get Alex rolling again as soon as possible, Snowfire has offered to help find a replacement at cost. The Waterbury community takes care of eachother during hard times <3

Having just purchased the truck, Alex is not in a position to buy another vehicle, and the unclear timeline for return, makes it challenging for Alex to plan for getting to and from work. These funds will help Alex purchase a replacement and get back to work and adventuring with her Rescue Shepherd, Gus as fast as possible.
