Help Alex Beat Leukemia Again

I am godmother and auntie to an amazing kid - Alex (14 years old) - who was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) at age 4. Our kiddo beat it the first time around and was in remission for over 6 years when the cancer returned in late May 2024. Alex is facing several rounds of intensive chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow transplant. This means lengthy hospital stays and a suppressed immune system requiring a sterile home environment. Medical bills not covered by insurance are quickly adding up. His mom, Megan, will also need to take a minimum of 12 weeks of unpaid family medical leave to care for Alex, and has other outstanding expenses related to the relapse. We are looking to raise $50K to help Alex and his family handle expenses related to his care and give him the best chance for a full recovery, including:

$20K - to cover incoming medical bills;
$20K - to cover rent and basic living expenses, offsetting lost income while Megan is on unpaid family medical leave caring for Alex during intensive treatment phases;
$5,000 - to maintain the six months+ apartment deep cleaning required during chemo and bone marrow transplant phases when Alex's immune system is most vulnerable, creating a safe and sterile home environment for recovery; and
$5,000 - to secure a medical care coordinator to help the family navigate an intensive and difficult care treatment plan, understand insurance coverage, and sort out medical bills and other issues (anyone who has been through intensive illness and recovery involving complicated treatment plans and long hospital stays understands how essential this service can be, which goes far beyond what hospital social workers typically provide).
