Help Alex change their legal documents!

Hi there! My name is Alex (they/them) and I'm a nonbinary trans-masc individual.

I first started transitioning in 2020 and have had the absolute privilege of living in Minnesota and having access to some of the best trans surgeons in the nation. Getting top surgery and starting HRT were such incredibly powerful acts of self-determination for me, and I'm eternally grateful for the friends and family that have supported me through it.

While I'm lucky enough to have health insurance that covers medical care, legal fees for identification documents are another story. It's finally time for me to go through the daunting task of legally changing my name, updating my birth certificate, and getting my passport together. As anti-trans rhetoric ramps up across the country, it's simply no longer safe for me to have outdated identification.

I'm reaching out to my beautiful and delightfully unhinged community to help me come up with the funds needed to update the following documents:

Legal name change - $285

Driver's license - $65

Birth certificate - $25

Passport - $160

Updating car title - $35

Copies - $14 each ($70 total - did ya'll know official copies were this expensive? And that you need multiple for updating the rest of your docs?)
