Help Alex Create a Community Park: San Miguel De Allende, MX

As most of you know, I have been a volunteer with children's programs in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico for decades.

I'm writing to you today to bring attention to a need in their community and to see if there might be a way you could help.

The Genaro Sandi Street neighborhood is filled with wonderful people, but unfortunately, it lacks a park or green space for residents to enjoy. This has a particularly negative impact on two groups: the elderly neighbors and the young children.

The elders don't have a designated place to gather, socialize, or simply relax. They often resort to eating meals with their families on their stoops, which exposes them to the elements and limits their interaction with others.

Similarly, the young children have nowhere to play safely. They're confined to streets and small yards, which can be dangerous and doesn't offer them the necessary space for healthy development.

There's a real opportunity to change this, however. On the corner of our block, there's an empty lot available for purchase. It has the perfect features for their needs: four beautiful trees, two on each end of the lot, that would provide shade for the elders, and a large, open center that would be ideal for a playground for the children.

The Park could truly transform their neighborhood, offering a safe and inviting space for all ages to connect and enjoy the outdoors. Fostering a sense of belonging and providing much-needed recreational space for all ages.

Here's where I'm hoping you might be able to help. We need help raising funds to purchase the lot and build the park. Perhaps you know of resources we haven't considered, or maybe you'd be in a position to contribute to the cause.

I am passionate about this project and to give joy to the community that I love and respect would be a dream.
