Help Alex finish her PhD

Hello,

 

My name is Alex Lepine. As most of you know in the final year(s) of my PhD and desperately need your help to stay in school.

 

I am in the process of applying for a loan extension, but even if it is approved, it will not be available before I have to pay winter tuition. I am unable to apply for an extension on payment at this time.

 

I am also currently sick with covid and unable to work for the next week.

 

Some things about me and my education:

 

-I have a bachelor's degree and masters degree already and have loved my PhD program despite how hard it's been.

-With some help from my single mom and some inheritances I have been able to make it this far and am so close to being done.

-I have worked multiple jobs at a time throughout my degrees, including manual labour, food bank work, and retail. I am a hard worker and no job is too hard or beneath me.

-What little spare time I have had these past 10 years has been largely dedicated to activism, and I believe strongly in collectivism and the principles of helping others.

- I am a first generation university student, neurodivergent and Métis. I look forward to being called Doctor one day and honoring my family.

 

I am looking in to going part time this semester but will still require help with reduced fees. Additionally, one of the medications I need to function is prohibitively costly without insurance and I would lose coverage by going part time and need to "opt-in".

 

Absolutely any little bit helps, and I'll do my best to pay it forward in the future.
