Help Alex Get a Tracheal Shave

Hello, my name's Alex, I fold paper and tweet about issues facing the queer community.

 

If you've watched any of my videos about paper engineering, you may have noticed I wear this strange black choker-thing around my neck and you've probably wondered "what's up with that?". Well that's to hide my very prominent Adam's apple, I cover it up so that I don't have to see it whilst I'm editing my videos because it makes me feel like a pile of chewed gum.

 

I'm raising funds for a tracheal shave, which is a fancy and scary-sounding term for an 'Adam's Apple reduction'. My large and prominent Adam's apple is one of the last remaining features that gives me significant gender dysphoria and it would be a blessing to finally not have to see it when I look in the mirror.

 

I understand that right now everyone is struggling and there are a countless number of more worthy causes to donate to, so don't feel any obligation or pressure to donate towards my surgery fund. I will eventually save up enough for it, reaching my fund raising goal would mean that I can move towards surgery a years ahead of my current schedule.

 

If by some miracle I manage to raise over the fund goal, I'll donate any extra to a trans related charity.
