Help Alex, Melissa & Theo rebuild their lives after the fire
Donation protected
Steve LaBate here in Los Angeles. My good friends Alex Tebeleff and Melissa Drew, their precious one-year-old son Theo, and their sweet dog Lula were permanently displaced from their Altadena home by the Eaton Fire last week.
While Melissa and Theo were visiting family in Florida at the time, Alex and Lula had to flee for their lives as thick smoke filled the air and the family's neighborhood went up in flames. Alex and Melissa lost their garage in the fire, which stored so many of their belongings, and while their house miraculously was left standing, many of their treasured and essential possessions have been lost to toxic smoke damage, among them Melissa's artwork and gear from Alex's home recording studio, where he makes his living as a music producer and engineer.
This has been a traumatic experience for the family. Their home now unlivable and covered in toxic ash, their chosen community of Altadena virtually wiped from the map, Alex, Melissa, Theo and Lula are now temporarily relocating to Florida while they figure out how to best move forward from this tragedy. At this time, they really need the help of their friends and community to get them through this difficult stretch so they can begin rebuilding their lives.
Please consider donating to their relief fund if you're able, and of course please share this gofundme so that others may contribute. The funds raised will assist Alex and Melissa with needs that might not be fully covered by other sources of aid, and will allow their family to better navigate the many complex and unexpected aspects of recovery from this crisis.
