Help Alexa Save Her Home

I met Alexa at a City Council Meeting back in May of 2021. She spoke about how her community in South St. Pete is struggling to survive. She shared how she sees all the great growth and prosperity occurring in St. Pete, and how it seems to pop up all around her neighborhood, but never IN her neighborhood. She was a person that I knew I just had to go and talk to once the meeting was over. Ever since we spoke she has not stopped fighting for her community and asking for the city to give her information and resources that she can take back to her neighborhood to share.
Alexa and I started meeting and talking regularly as she kept trying to find ways to help the people around her. It wasn't until several months after meeting her that she finally shared, "Nick, I'm one of the people in my neighborhood who needs help too."
Like many of us, Alexa has struggled to make ends meet during the pandemic. She is filing for disability after years of working for the Postal Service and was able to get by because of the extra unemployment benefits from the CARES Act, but then those benefits were cut in half and eventually ended entirely, 3 months early in Florida.
$2400 represents 3 months' worth of mortgage payments for Alexa and will help her get through until disability checks can come through. The pandemic has been an incredibly trying time for a lot of people and this is a way to directly help someone in need. If you are able, I ask that you please give what you can to help an amazing community advocate.
