Help Alexandra get to Tanglewood!

Hello! My name is Alexandra Economou, and I am a junior at Burncoat High School in Worcester, MA. For years, music has been my passion. Ever since elementary school, it's been my favorite subject, the love of my life, and this love only deepened when I discovered the tuba in middle school. I take great pride in being one of few female tubists, and I strive each day to prove that the tuba can be more than just oompahs (although those are always fun!)
Throughout my time as a musician, I've been very grateful for my numerous achievements. Over the years, I've participated in the Worcester Youth Orchestras, the Massachusetts Central District Honor Band (this year as principal!), and performed in the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association Solo and Ensemble Festival's Honors Concert, as one of the festival's top gold medalists. Additionally, I am proud to announce that I will be participating in the Massachusetts MEA All-State Band this year!
This all being said, I'm so excited that I am finally able to say that, in addition to the accolades I've gathered over the years, I've been accepted to the prestigious Tanglewood Institute Tuba and Euphonium Workshop!
While I've applied to other summer camps in addition Tanglewood (and am still awaiting admissions decisions), Tanglewood has always been a dream of mine. Its resources are unparalleled. At Tanglewood, I would study for two weeks under the Boston Symphony Orchestra's Mike Roylance, perfecting my technique and repertoire for collegiate study through private lessons, masterclasses, and performance opportunities.
Seeing that I intend to go on to study music education and performance in college, I find it crucial to be able to participate in a program as rigorous and renowned as Tanglewood's. After all, everyone knows that all the best music teachers are also spectacular musicians!
Unfortunately, though, Tanglewood has not offered me any scholarship money, and, to be candid, my family cannot afford the steep costs on our own. :(
With your donation, I would be able to pay the tuition and feed my dream, getting the training I need to achieve success. Currently, while the majority of the tuition will not be due for some time, Tanglewood expects a $1000 tuition deposit by this Friday, February 25.
All donations are greatly appreciated, no matter the amount, and I thank all those who donate for their kindness and generosity!

P.S. An updated recital video will be posted on 2/27, so stay tuned!
