Help Alexandria Families
Donation protected
We help more than 40 families every week by delivering food, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and baby supplies in response to the effects of the pandemic. Many of these families are unemployed and not eligible for benefits. We are helping to provide supplies that other organizations aren't.
All of the funds we receive go directly towards purchasing groceries and supplies, with priority given to perishable items like milk, produce, eggs, and meat, and diapers and baby wipes - we currently deliver an average of 15 boxes of diapers per week!
While we receive many in-kind donations of food and supplies, we directly purchase a majority of what we need. The current cost to sustain supporting an average of 200 families per month is $4,000. While we have raised over $15,500 (as of mid-August), we are spending funds almost as quickly as we receive them. We rely on a steady stream of in-kind and monetary donations, otherwise we would not be able to help as many families as we do.
Once we deliver supplies we check back in with families every other week to see if they need anything else. There are lots of families that we can help with a regular delivery of groceries and supplies.
Thank you for supporting our efforts to help our community and help relieve stress from families during this tough time.
