Help Alfie Heal

I am Rob, a friend of Alfred O’Neill and what I have learned about his current situation has propelled me to action. Alfie suffered a heartbreaking loss in this pandemic when, in March, he lost his fiancé to it. Yulia Khrenova was only 37 years old and the love of his life. He’s been devastated and compounding the pain has been the inability to contact her estranged family to inform them of the loss.

 

One night several months ago while mourning her passing, Alfie had an accidental fall. It’s been a rough road for him ever since including 8 doctors visits, multiple emergency room visits, 2 CAT scans and a brain MRI. He has several more pending medical visits.

As a result of his accident he was diagnosed with a skull fracture whereby the doctors also found a hematoma which continues to require diligent monitoring. He is currently waiting for a physical therapy response about the vestibular injury to his inner ear.

 

Alfie’s family's support has been of tremendous help as he has a roof over his head while he mourns and works on healing but as a result of this series of events, Al has found himself in a terrible spot financially with added uncertainty for the near future. He continues to pay for healthcare related costs, pay off the burial and other expenses while unable to work due to these traumatic head injuries. The current situation is unsustainable and has put tremendous stress on him. For this reason, we are asking you in our community of friends, neighbors and fellow humans to help Alfie gain some breathing room as he tries to regain some semblance of his normal life.

 

This pandemic has been extremely difficult for every single one of us, but I believe that in these shared stresses we have become more connected as human beings. In these burdensome times we have seen so many empathetic people being their best selves, so many people being responsible. People are making sacrifices and taking care of each other worldwide. What I hope to accomplish with this campaign is to tap into that positive energy and raise funds to help our dear friend Alfred “Alfie” O’Neill who has suffered this gut wrenching tragedy and financial set backs.

 

Alfred O’Neill was born and raised in the Inwood section of Manhattan New York City, he is currently living in Maryland.  Alfie has been self-employed as an ultrasound technologist for almost half of his 30 year career in the field. He is a decades long dedicated musician as well. He is mentally and spiritually fueled by his drive to return to his career, his music and the search for his former fiance’s family. We hope you can help us try to provide Alfie with the near term financial stability that he needs during his healing process.

 

The following are the most pressing needs that your donation will immediately start helping pay down. We expect the upcoming medical and interest accruing expenses to be higher than what’s represented below but hitting these denominations would make a world of difference and any donation on your part would be a huge help.
