Help Alfredo Arroyo Fight for Life

On November 7, 2023, our beloved Alfredo Arroyo experienced a massive heart attack. He was sent to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital where his journey began in the ICU. On November 9, Alfredo had open heart surgery which was a success but during his recovery he developed pneumonia. At this point Cottage Hospital said it was best to continue his care at UCLA medical center. Due to the severity Alfredo was then transported by Air Ambulance to UCLA where he is currently on a ECMO bypass machine and on dialysis. He’s currently in critical condition and UCLA is taking life saving measures.

Alfredo is loved by the Santa Barbara community. During the day he is a bartender at Joe’s Café and in the evening, he is the General Manager of the Crocodile Restaurant at the Lemon Tree Inn. Alfredo has been a pilar of the community since he was the GM at Café de Sol in Montecito for 39 years. Alfredo has been married to Adriana for 40 years. They have raised 3 beautiful children together. They are truly devoted to each other and their kids. Alfredo is a loving grandfather who spends his weekends cheering on his grandkids at sporting games, loves to run and spends quality time with his family. Alfredo’s key values are family and his faith.

With the loss of two incomes please consider a donation to help the family with fast approaching medical bills and household expenses. Unfortunately, UCLA doesn’t offer accommodations for Adriana and the family while Alfredo continues his care in the ICU at UCLA. This leaves his wife with no other option but to pay out of pocket for additional housing near UCLA.

Once discharged from the hospital Alfredo will have a long recovery before being able to resume a normal life.
