Help Ali kick cancer’s butt

Hello! My name is Anna and I am raising money for my beautiful sister Ali, a local Northern Beaches mum of two young children who was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer earlier this year.

Ali has had over 19 hospital visits this year with horrendous complications from her cancer and septic infections, spending over 7 months away from her kids all while undergoing 6 months of horrible chemotherapy and 6 weeks of radiotherapy/chemo combo. While she has been at home, she has been incredibly sick, bed bound and unable to care for her kids. Each day she has been at home, Ali has visits from home nurses who manage her medications, antibiotic infusers and dressings.

She has been unable to work this entire year, leaving her family in financial strain on only one income. (No thanks to Centerlink or her health fund).

We almost lost Ali three times, and we will do everything in our power to not let that happen. She is now facing another huge hurdle - a major surgery over at RPA hospital in Sydney next week (22nd November). There is only one doctor in the whole of Australia who will undertake this intense operation. Ali will be facing a 12 hour procedure, 4 days in ICU and 4 weeks in hospital in RPA, with a further 2 weeks in rehab. This is further time away from her young kids. This surgery will cost the family between $5000-$10,000!! Without this surgery, Ali has no chance of survival.

We would appreciate any form of help for Ali and her beautiful family through this horrible time.

Ali is an amazing mum to her her beautiful son & daughter, a loving sister, a great wife to her husband and such a caring friend to many. She is a former disability support worker of 14 years and owns and runs her own Photography business - Alice Lonergan Photography here on the beaches. Ali would never even think of organising a go fund me fundraiser for herself, but now with the additional financial stress of treatment, cost of living rising, rushing interest rates, not being able to work and additional expenses for their children needing additional care, we want to help. Every cent will help her and her beautiful family tackle this challenge.

The funds raised will go towards medical treatment and supporting the family. All surplus funds will be donated to the Cancer Council charity. This charity is very close to Ali's heart, having already hosting "the Biggest morning tea" events over the past few years.
