Help Ali leave Gaza to safety
Donation protected
My name is Jacqueline. I'm an American instructor who spent the summer teaching students in Gaza with the program Code.X, where I met Ali. Ali is a very talented student who is full of potential, and he's now experiencing unimaginably devastating conditions. His house was destroyed and he's lost family members. With the daily threats of bombs, starvation, dehydration, and illness, Ali needs your help to secure a safe passage to Egypt and a chance at a new life again.
Ali's message
My name is Ali, and I am reaching out to you with a plea for help. Life has taken an unexpected turn, and I find myself in a desperate situation.
I'm a 19-year-old sophomore at Al-Azhar University of Gaza, I am an extroverted individual with a passion for a diverse range of activities. I find joy in swimming, a hobby that offers both relaxation and vigorous exercise. My enthusiasm for public speaking has honed my communication skills, allowing me to articulate my thoughts clearly and confidently. I am an avid fan of soccer and wrestling, dedicating time to not only watch but also analyze the intricacies of each game. Language learning and coding are intellectual pursuits that challenge my mind, while my analytical skills are further sharpened by dissecting soccer strategies and chess tactics.
I have always been full of dreams. As a young student, I am passionate about learning, exploring, and making a positive impact. My love for life and my unwavering commitment to education have fueled my journey. I am proud to say that I am a straight A+ student, and my thirst for knowledge knows no bounds.
In addition to focusing on academics, I actively participate in my community. Whether it's volunteering at local shelters, organizing clean-up drives, or mentoring younger students, I believe in giving back to my community. I thrive on the joy of making a difference.

The situation
But everything changed on October 7th. On that fateful day, tragedy struck. The conflict in the Gaza Strip escalated, leaving my dreams shattered. I lost loved ones, and my family was displaced from our home. The once vibrant streets now echo with pain and uncertainty. Our family of 8 people now stay in 1 room with a family friend in Rafah.
My hometown of Khan Younis:
Despite the chaos, I refuse to give up. Education is my lifeline, my beacon of hope. I want to continue my studies, help my family & help provide a better future for them, pursue my passions, and contribute to a better world. But to do that, I need your support.
I am seeking to raise a fund of $10,000. This amount will allow me to evacuate from the Gaza Strip, find safety, and continue my education. With your generosity, I can reclaim my dreams and build a brighter future.
Costs breakdown
My family makes $800 a month and needs to support 8 people, which is also why your support is so valuable to me.
The $10,500 contain:
- $8000 evacuation border fees for 1 person, including $5000 as the base fee and extra $3000 to increase my chance of getting accepted for evacuation. Not paying the extra $3000 could lead to a month of waiting, and with the escalating threats of invading Rafah, I will be risking my only chance of evacuating.
- $1000 for 3-4 months of rent in Egypt & the basic living fees during that time, until I can continue my education journey.
- $1000 to cover the 6 months residency fee which is the minimum required by the Egyptian government to be able to stay there.
- $500 as an approximate number for GoFundMe's (2.9% + $0.30 per donor) fee.
Note: The first $8000 will immediately go to Ali's border fees to get him on the waiting list to cross. Remaining amounts will help him find a place to live in Egypt.

Why Support Ali?
- Talented and Driven: I am not just a student; I am a dreamer, a doer. I have skills and talents waiting to flourish.
- Resilience: Despite adversity, I am determined to rise above the challenges.
- Promise of Tomorrow: By supporting me, you invest in a brighter tomorrow—one where education triumphs over conflict.
Together, we can rewrite my story. Let's turn tragedy into triumph. Your kindness will not only change my life but also inspire countless others. Donate today and be part of my journey. Let's make dreams come true, even in the darkest of times.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Ali
