Help Alicia & Scott - Ovarian Cancer Fund

Donation protected
Hi. My name is Mary (Crandall) Snyder. My younger sister, Alicia Crandall, has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4  Ovarian Cancer. Alicia is a strong, healthy, vibrant woman, so this diagnosis comes as a complete shock to her, her partner Scott Hohnstein, their friends, and our entire family. We are raising funds to help offset the costs of out-of-pocket medical expenses, travel for treatment, and other "life with cancer" expenses that will arise.

Alicia and Scott live in Missoula, Montana. Scott is an Adjunct Associate Professor and musician. Alicia has worked full-time since 2008 at Missoula Aging Services, a nonprofit Area Agency on Aging whose mission is to promote the independence, dignity, and health of older adults and those who care for them. She loves her work, her co-workers, and especially the positive impact she makes collaborating to deliver vital programs and services in the community.

Alicia has a huge passion for life. She is a snowboarder and mountain biker, lover of tango dance, and West African culture (especially dance with Djebe Bara.) In the summers she can be found paddleboarding the river, in-line skating, commuting on a bike, and hiking the many trails Missoula has to offer. Alicia also loves her gym community where she takes great care in prioritizing both her physical and emotional health. Above all, she adores her partner Scott and their friends and family. There is only one Gynecological Oncology group in the entire state of Montana, located at Billings Clinic, about 350 miles away from Missoula (a six-hour drive.) This team of specialists visits Missoula two to three times a month. Alicia and Scott are traveling to and staying in Billings for several treatments, which will include her debulking surgery in the spring. She will also begin chemotherapy in Billings on December 30th with follow up chemo treatments in Missoula.

We appreciate any financial help, along with prayers for her, Scott, and our family. Since 1994, Alicia has devoted her career to helping others through her service in various non-profits. She has also put in hundreds of hours volunteering for a variety of organizations. Now it is time for us to help her! Please share this post with family and friends. By spreading the word to your circle, we widen the circle of support for Alicia and Scott as they begin this journey fighting Ovarian Cancer. This is not how anyone pictures their life at age 49, yet Alicia is staying optimistic, strong, and hopeful with the love and support of friends and family.
