Alicia Davis' Memorial Fund

Hello everyone!

We are not typically a family that asks for any help or handouts, but these times are requiring more of us than we have to give. We are asking for some support through this end of life period for mom. We have little to no resources for help with her care and it has fallen on my brother, Tony, and I to care for her around the clock.

Backstory:

Mom was diagnosed with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer that metastasized to her brain in July 2020. She has undergone 2 craniotomies and 2 rounds of cyberknife radiation therapy. This last year has been a rough one for her with going back and forth to the hospital for treatments and surgeries, a few hospital stays and now her being completely incapable of caring for herself. She is currently in the end phases of this life, slipping away from us more and more every day, which requires her to have 24/7 care. This has caused a hardship on my brother and I. I am currently on an unpaid leave from work to care for her because I am the one with the medical training and my brother has not been able to work as he needs to either. We have contacted all services available to assist us with her care and have unfortunately run in to repeated brick walls. Our only other option is to put her in a facility, something we both promised her we would not do. She also does not have life insurance, even though she attempted to get it numerous times, due to her medical history and fixed income over the last few years.

Any help will be so appreciated so that we can focus completely on her care and celebrating her life both now and when she passes.
