Help Alina fight her battle
My name is Alina Leyva, I am a 29year old student, attending San Francisco State. During the first few months of the pandemic I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. During this time not only was I diagnosed with cancer I also became unemployed. This past year has been very challenging for me as I do live alone and have only mediocre healthcare coverage which does not cover all my health costs. It has been extremely difficult maintaining my livelihood and mental health. Through this battle I am still attending San Francisco State and have received my first full round on chemotherapy. In a few weeks I will be undergoing a lumpectomy and starting radiation. If everything goes as planned with this procedure all my treatments will be complete. In the mean time I am asking for donations to help with my basic household necessities such as rent, utilities and groceries. Any donations received will also help me tremendously with my medical bill. I am currently on MediCal and they do not cover all my medical expenses. Recently the stress of financial burdens has been taking a toll on my health, which is why I am finally telling my story because I can no longer fight alone. Please help me continue to fight this battle with cancer. If you are not in a position to financially help, prayers are welcomed also. As these will help with my mental health. Throughout the journey I have remained positive and have a mind over matter attitude to keep my body and mind fighting.
This page was created by a few of Alina's closest friends through her own point of view. Alina is a bubbly, funny, bright-eyed individual who has always been by her friends side through thick and thin. We want to show her the same appreciation she has always given and shown us. She's is the life of the party even in her battle with cancer she is always so OPTIMISTIC AND POSITIVE. Sometimes we feel like we are more devastated by the diagnosis than she is, but for her we all remain strong and never doubt her recovery process.
No amount is too small, and if you are not able to donate please leave words of encouragement and or prayers for her to read. Anything can help in these times to continue too fight.
