Help Aline's Family Get Back on the Road

I'm Aline McKenzie, a retired science writer/editor in Dallas, fundraising on behalf of family members

My niece, her fiancée, and their four kids are stranded at an extended-stay hotel after their vehicle died in the middle of a multi-state move.

The situation is draining their finances and they need help to buy a reliable used van to get back on the road.

In preparation for relocating from the East Coast to the Midwest, they bought a used, not-really-big-enough-for-their-needs minivan that later developed multiple problems before dying entirely.

One adult uses a wheelchair and two of the children use car seats. Add in the strollers, luggage, and other stuff, and you can see why a typical minivan isn’t workable. They plan to sell the dead van as-is and put the money toward a bigger van. They need your help to reach this goal!

They’re looking to buy a Chevrolet Express 3500 passenger van or equivalent. After the move, this would serve as a dependable vehicle for work, medical appointments, community events, and so on.

They've estimated the sales price, fixing-up, taxes, fees, AAA membership, etc., and subtracted what they think they can get for the old van. $15,000 will set them up with something that makes their lives workable!
