Hello! We are Allie Young and Clara Gallagher, childhood friends from upstate New York, and we’re making a female-led music video for Allie’s song Back and Forth, shooting over 2 days in Belgrade, Serbia in early June 2024.

Ever since we were kids in Dryden Central Schools, Allie wanted to be a musician and Clara wanted to direct, and now it’s happening!

ABOUT THE VIDEO

The music video will contain three parts interwoven to create a meta exploration of identity.

Part 1 - Allie performs an incredibly polished routine in a studio with backup dancers, both on a white background (pictured below) and in the void of a black box studio.

The Studio:

Part 2 - Mili, the Serbian villager, impersonates Allie and her dance from the studio on the streets of Belgrade

Part 3 - Mili’s backstory, illuminating what prompted her to impersonate Allie after seeing the video from the studio

The music video will act as both a standalone music video for Allie and a proof of concept for a film fund Clara is applying for with our producer, Sara Zeljković.

Why Serbia

Clara has been living in Belgrade for the past two years and is part of the tight-knit filmmaking community here. Using our local connections, we have been able to assemble an incredible world-class crew and make deals for equipment, etc., but we still need you!

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

There’s a whole team of passionate professionals (mostly women!) working on this because they believe in the project, but there are still costs that come with shooting.

We need to raise $5,000.

This will cover the following for two days of shooting:

Technical equipment (lights, camera, dolly, tripod, etc.)
Location fees for studio, city, and village
Transportation costs
Bespoke costumes, hair and makeup supplies, and prop rentals
Food on set!

ABOUT US

Allie Young is a creative with 5+ years in the music industry as a curator, artist manager, event producer, graphic designer and marketer. She has been performing since she was a kid, and now makes gritty vocalpower pop with layers that range from delicate to dissonant and bellowing. Her live performances infuse tenor saxophone, vocal distortion, off-kilter samples and other mysteries.

Clara Gallagher has spent nearly a decade in the film industry. She was the Creative Director of Lightfuse & Gettaway, the production company behind Desert Warrior (MBC Studios), The Mosquito Coast (Apple TV+), Captive State (Participant Media, Focus Features), and more. She moved to Belgrade, Serbia in 2022 after falling in love with a costume designer on the set of a 7th century desert war epic in Saudi Arabia.

Sara Zeljković is a producer from Belgrade, Serbia. She founded Friend Studio, a production house and a creative agency, in 2023. In addition to commercial endeavors, Friend Studio actively contributes to art and film projects, demonstrating a dedication to diverse creative pursuits.
