Help Allison, Dave & Their Girls Recover From Fire

Our dear friends Allison Bonds Mazza and Dave Mazza and their 3 little girls have suffered the devastating and complete loss of their home and personal belongings in the Pacific Palisades fire. When the evacuation was ordered, Allison, Dave and the girls had to move very quickly and were able to grab their beloved dogs and very few things. After enduring the chaos and stress of the evacuation, they thankfully reached safety. While waiting for updates, they were evacuated again, and later received word that their house, entire neighborhood and community, including the girls’ school, were all lost to the fire. They lost all of their personal belongings, from priceless family heirlooms, baby books and photos to furniture, entire wardrobes and toys. In short, they lost everything, other than the clothes they were wearing and what they were able to grab with their hands. Their entire lives have been halted and up-ended by the horrific fire.

 

As news has spread about the fire and now the loss of their home and belongings, many of Allison and Dave’s friends have been asking how to help get the family what they need. While we all wish that we could erase this trauma for them and immediately help them to restore their lives, we know that this will be a long and complicated recovery that has to be taken day by day. Due to the nature of the situation, we felt that the most practical thing to do to help Allison, Dave and the girls is to set up this fundraiser so that they can use the money for their needs as they tackle the next day, week, month, year(s)... The family is currently in a hotel and will need to search for housing and a school for the girls, and will have to secure from scratch all of the items that they will need to live. While we are hopeful that insurance will help them to eventually rebuild, there is much that California fire insurance will not cover, and that is where we can all help.

 

To know Allison and Dave and the girls is a gift. They are giving, thoughtful, supportive, fun and loving friends. We all know of their resilience and strength that has unfortunately been called upon too many times. Many of us cherish memories of special times spent together in their beautiful home. We know that those memories will endure and new ones will be made together once they have recovered from this trauma. In the meantime, we can help support all of them, and we know that they will be grateful. Allison and Dave are not ones to ask for help but that can’t stop us from offering to do so. We are certain that they will be grateful for anything that we are able to provide to them to aid in their recovery.
