Help Ally Miller to defeat leukemia
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jan Lichterman and I'm fundraising for Allison "Ally" Miller Thomas, daughter of Fran and Larry Miller. Ally has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She is currently in Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis which is 4 hours from her home in Ozark, MO. She is under the care of a world renown doctor who specializes in Leukemia. So she's in good hands.
She just started chemotherapy and will be in the hospital for at least a month. After that she can go home. Then in 3 to 4 months, she will come back to St. Louis for a bone marrow/stem cell transplant.
I've known Ally and her parents for 38 years, ever since she was a teenager. If you know her, you know she is the most upbeat, delightful, compassionate, giving and loving person you'll ever meet. She's a wonderful, single, working mom with two precious children. So you can imagine why it's important to me to help in her time of need. Since they do not know how long her treatments and recovery will take, these funds will be used to pay for her monthly bills and any unforeseen expenses. I have set a goal of $30,000.
I'm also asking for prayers for complete healing, stamina through tough rounds of chemo and peace of mind and heart for her and her family. Her mom, Fran is with her and through these days of discovering Ally's diagnosis, they have cried together, laughed together and praised God together because they know He will work all things together for her good and His glory. Ally's attitude is one of joy in the storm and comfort in knowing her Lord Jesus is with her, in her and will equip her to persevere. Thank you for your prayers, support and participation in her complete recovery! Please feel free to leave some words of encouragement!
UPDATE: We have wonderful news. The 2nd biopsy of Fran’s daughter, Ally, did not show any leukemia cells. The doctors will allow her body to recover from the harsh chemo she endured last week for a couple of weeks (in hospital), then they will conduct another biopsy that will go deeper into the bone. We are hopeful for good news after that biopsy, too!
We can’t provide medical knowledge, but we CAN make a big difference by easing the financial situation. If you have already contributed, Ally is so grateful. Another way to help is to share this GoFundMe page to your Facebook and request your friends share it to their page. Please, jump in now to help!
