Can a phone call end your life?

I am Abdulrahman Almasri, 25 years old, a resident of Gaza, I hold a bachelor's degree in Multimedia. I lived all these years in the same place, the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza City. It was distinguished by the beauty of the place, its proximity to the seashore, the abundance of trees there, and the strong relationship that the residents had with each other.

Was my neighborhood, on the right is the building where I used to live (Al Mahafza Tower 1).

Being in a place like Gaza means that one single phone call will make you lose everything at once.
Imagine losing your home, your brothers' and sisters' homes, your memories, your neighborhood, some of your friends, and everything you've been working hard on in one phone call.
"Leave your home now! and tell everyone in your area to leave too. if somebody died, it's YOUR responsibility!"
what? my responsibility that you're erasing a whole neighborhood "Tal Alhawa"? 40 minutes following this call they really erased the only neighborhood we lived in my whole life.

and of course I couldn't tell "everyone else to leave, they are thousands! I did what I was able to do through less than hour and saved a few lives.
It was a shock, but I believe that I was lucky that I had the chance to survive with my family!
We moved from a place to another tens of times looking for a safe place, it was our biggest dream to sleep without hearing the tanks, drones, missiles and aircraft.
The real problem was that there is no safe place in all Gaza, they stopped calling and warning civilians and we witnessed the building we refuge to bombing while we were sleeping, at 3am!
We cried, starved, freeze but we know that we're totally alone; No one in this whole world can feel or bear what we felt or endured, no one suggested for a help.
couple of days ago, we were hoping to live the end of war, instead, we lost 14 of our family members, and a BIG number of friends and neighbors.

The repercussions of the war did not stop only at physical destruction; Rather, it extended to horrors that we had never imagined. In addition to losing my home, and my brother’s home, where we were going to seek refuge, I lost my relatives, friends, and neighbor, Because of our disconnection from the world, I was left without a job.

Losing his life for a few liters of water proves how silly is to live in such a place, Fouad my cousin was the victim for this crime when he got sniped just for seeking for water!
He lived with us in the same shelter, when our supply of drinking water ran out, he went to a nearby house to fill water from one of the neighbors. We waited for him for an hour and he did not return. The hour turned into hours, we started searching for him, next day we found him lying in the street, the water mixed with his blood on the sand, When we found him he was dead, and his crime was trying to provide drinking water.

A view of the building I live in after it was leveled.

The only thing I hope for now after more than 210 days of war is to live a decent life together me and my family, away from bombing, tanks, guns, aircrafts, and every possible conflict in this world. All what I dream is to stop seeing more of my beloved ones dying, we need to save the "still living" members of my family and escape to a safer place ASAP. every minute passing increase the possibility of losing someone else.
